Official Description:

In the modern world, qi is money.

The days of traveling martial artists and mountaintop masters are over. Power is controlled by corporations, modernized martial arts sects, and governments. Those at the bottom of society struggle as second class citizens in a world in which power is a commodity.

Rick is a young fighter in this world. He doesn't dream of immortality or becoming the strongest, just of building a better life for himself and his sister, who suffers from a spiritual illness. Unfortunately, life isn't that easy...

  2. Street Cultivation was a blast. So much so that I immediately read Changing Faces and Raising Allies in your other series and am just about to start on Breaking Rules. I'm really looking forward to the next Street Cultivation book after I finish things out with Bloodraith and crew.

    1. Thanks! I hope you enjoy the conclusion of New Game Minus. The sequel to Street Cultivation will still be posting on Patreon/RoyalRoad for a few months, but then it will be coming to Amazon as well. I also have an epic fantasy novel coming up that you might like!

  3. It's been a really good read so far (Chapter 31). Lucrima is a great metaphor (lucre + lacrima?); however , if I'm right that demonic bonds are credit, it's maybe a little harsh since not all credit consumes you alive :)

    1. Glad you're enjoying it so far! Your thought on demonic bonds will actually come up... in a later book. Rick starts with a poor person's view of debt, since he only has access to the worst forms of credit, but eventually he'll have to reconsider that.
