New Game Minus

New Game Minus is my completed LitRPG trilogy.

Description: Bloodwraith thought of himself as an effective villain, until a single adventurer destroyed his entire lair. With his last breath, he switched bodies with the adventurer and discovered that his world was built on lies. Alien beings from another dimension were using his world as a game... and now he was one of them.

The problem is, Bloodwraith has no experience being an adventurer. He was a mage, but his new body is only good at hitting things. He relied on undead minions, but now he has no choice but to depend on other people. And worst of all, strange boxes are constantly appearing in his vision, describing the world in unfamiliar, nonsensical terms.

Taking over the world is off the table, because the alien gods might be watching. To survive, Bloodwraith will need to learn the truth about himself and his world. And that means acting like an adventurer, at least for now.

Description: Bloodwraith was a villain who hated adventurers until he found himself transferred into the body of one. Trapped without his magic, he discovered that alien beings were using his reality as a game... and he had just become a player. Teaming up with a glitched NPC and other adventurers, he has no choice but to learn the truth about himself and his world.

Finally free of obligations, Bloodwraith can recover his necromancy and strike back against the beings controlling his world. Little does he know that one of them is now hunting for him: his old adventurer nemesis is still alive in his old body. Not only does the adventurer plan to get his body back, he's not going to play fair to get it.

Journeying to a new city, with new rivals and potential allies, Bloodwraith will be challenged in many ways. But in the end, he will be facing his past life, and this time he will need to decide what it is he really wants.

Audible Link: I'm sorry to say I will not be bringing the third book to audio. Taking a financial loss was not a big deal, but Audible listeners have exhausted my reserves.

The original adventurer may be defeated, but Bloodwraith and his allies have attracted the attention of the beings that control his world. They're coming in force, bringing both control of the system and bizarre alien powers. Bloodwraith will have no choice but to fight for his life while trying to understand the conflicts among the box gods. That battle will take him back to Cresthaven, to new cities entirely, through the most dangerous dungeon yet, and against opponents unlike any he's ever faced...

  1. Hey, I'm a longtime fan of all your work. I've yet to see anything of yours I have NOT liked. I was wondering though if there will be more from this series at all? Or is this one done and wrapped up?

    1. Hey, glad to hear that you've enjoyed my work. ^-^ Though I did have more potential stories in mind for Bloodwraith and company, the trilogy is complete and I don't know that I'll expand to another series.

  2. Mellow greetings, I recently stumbled across book one of new game minus on audible. I really enjoyed it, and was wondering if you have plans to have the other two entries in the series released as audio books.

    1. Unfortunately, my narrator bailed on me in the middle of producing the second book, and this discouraged me. I know that audiobook listeners prefer to keep consistent narrators, and producing the other two would be a large investment. That said, the fact that people keep requesting them does make me consider managing it someday.

Assuming this is the same person, thanks for your support on Patreon!

    2. Thank you for taking the time to respond so promptly. That sucks he bailed on you, what a twit. I shall have to read the next ones then. I'm happy to give my support. I really enjoy your work, keep it up and good luck in you future projects.

  3. Just another vote for continuing via audiobooks. Yeah, consistent narrators is the ideal, but I've dealt with new authors before and I can do it again, for the sake of a good book.

  4. Random speculation:
Audible has nothing by the narrator in question after late 2019, so while it's sad he wasn't able to do the whole series, there might be more to his abandoning the project than just being a twit. Well, he might be twit regardless of course. That he never narrataed more than one book per author is suggestive.

My only relevant point: Count my vote in "completing the audíobooks" camp.

    1. We've been in contact briefly, and he's expressed interest, but he's never been able to follow up. He may not be comfortable refusing, or his schedule might simply have overwhelmed him.

Regardless, I'd still like to have the books narrated, but things are currently stalled.
